Final Tip: Choosing the Right Lightbulb

For most of our designs, you’ll find that the warmer-toned lights work beautifully, but you may prefer a neutral white. Lighting warmth (in this case, the warmth of the light color, not its actual temperature) is measured in Kelvins (K).

If you want warm, yellow, or even orange-toned lights, you need to go to the cooler side of Kelvin, so look for bulbs that are closer to 2700 to 3000K. If you want cooler whites that inch towards blue (like daylight), then you’ll need a higher K value around 5000 to 6500K.

The right light tone can make your lighting fixtures come to life, so choose your lights and their bulbs wisely.
